great weekend

Tina, Catherine and I left Thursday to go to New Hampshire for a big longarm quilt show. The weather was bad; sleet and snow in New Hampshire and Vermont. It was a white knuckle drive as Catherine called it. We checked in, then went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was the prettiest one I have ever seen. Catherine and I shared a bottle of wine and got shitty! I felt so relaxed; it was just what I needed. Tina drove back to the hotel.
I took 2 classes on Friday and 2 on Saturday. I learned so much. I wish I had taken classes the first time we went. We ended up coming home a day early; we left right after my last class. We wanted to beat the Noreaster that is expected. I am happy to be home.
The 3 days together gave more time to make plans for the store and come up with more ideas. I can't believe we go to Market in 17 days. In my estimation, I have about 7 weeks left at work. That is something!
The state still hasn't changed my name, and I need to change it again after I get it. Wednesday will be 3 weeks and they told me 2-3 weeks. I'd like to order phone service this week, make the appointment with the accountant and get the name change settled. I also need to get an ad in by Friday. Oh yeah, I need to get a merchant account with a credit card company to accept them.

a minor set back

I faxed in my name change on 3/28 to the State. I didn't pay the extra $25 for expedited service so it will take 2-3 weeks. The next day, my friend found a flyer from a long arm quilter about an hour away with the same name. Too close for me. She obviously did not run the name through the state. I called the state and asked if it can be withdrawn since it has not been processed. Nope. They would not know which of the work baskets of the 35 people who do that it is in. That means we're not gonna dig around for it. So when that change is processed-for $60, I have to do it all again for another $60 and this time I will pay for the expedited service ($25) -since I am running out of time. I expect to have this taken care of by the time we come back from New Hampshire on 4/16. 60 bucks to file a piece of paper!!
I know what phone service I will go with and internet, but can't order service until I have the name. Now that I am here thinking about it, I am starting to panic. The phone will take 3 weeks, which may put me past the May 11th deadline to get in the yellow pages.
Catherine, Tina and I will be going to New Hampshire on Thursday for machine quilter's show. I signed up and paid for classes back in November. Way before this new business venture. It will be hard to concentrate on the show with everything else going on in my life!
